Platinum Trophys?

So I actually managed to get my first on recently (Split/Second) (fairly difficult though youtube videos helped).

Ive been trying to look at a few other games to get some, just to boost PSNego, but, lol, since Im mostly an RPG fan, the trophy's are all mad time consuming.  Star Ocean:  The Last Hope International, Final Fantasy XIII, Record of Agarest War, Disgaea 3.

What are some platniunms that you all have an dhow difficult or easy were they to get.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

Xblades.

It's cheap.
It's quick. (1 afternoon)
It's easy.
It's also kinda fun once you get past the god-awful story and even worse-drawn lead character.

The 1st Uncharted I found to be easy too.

I've read that people have used the 'kid games' and the Terminator game to boost too.

That said, if anyone wants to let me punch them in Killzone-2 for a few rounds I'd be most grateful. The melee trophy and Radec on elite are all that stand between me and platinum.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

I currently have 10 platinums. I guess I'll touch on each of them a bit:

Assassin's Creed II - I'm honestly not sure how hard this one would be considered, because I love the AC games and would play them to completion whether trophies were involved or not (as I did with the first game). But I think even from a non-fanboy standpoint it still wouldn't be considered too difficult.

Burnout Paradise - I'm not a big racing game fan, but this one is pretty easy to get regardless. It may take a bit of time to do some of the stuff needed, but none of it is actually hard to do.

Buzz: Quiz TV - I'm not gonna lie, I used the glitch to get most of the trophies in this game, and I probably wouldn't have the platinum otherwise. A lot of them were pretty difficult to get multiplayer trophies that I wouldn't have been able to get legitimately. Even the ones that I had to get on my own were pretty hard to get without some trickery, so this is probably the one I'm the least proud of.

Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2: The story was a bitch to play through on the hardest difficulty, but it wasn't impossible. As for the co-op, those missions were a bitch to play through as well, but I had a lot of fun doing them with a friend so it wasn't nearly as bad.

Dead Space - My first platinum. It was pretty easy to get, as the game isn't that hard even on the hardest difficulty.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard - Definitely one of the most difficult Platinum trophies to get, but mainly because the game is so terrible. It's a shame the gameplay wasn't better because I did like the story and characters.

Resident Evil 5 - I freaking love this game, so this was an enjoyable one to get. I mostly played it with my sister, and we always have a good time playing games together. It's another one that's not really hard as opposed to just time consuming.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection - Probably the easiest platinum trophy I've gotten legitimately. Every single trophy is pretty easy to get (except the one for beating Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine).

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - A great game, but most of the trophies were pretty tedious (i.e get X kills with X weapon). Definitely one of the easier ones overall though.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - A better game than the first, but pretty much the same as the first as far as trophies go.

I've gotten close in a few others (Battlefield: Bad Company and LittleBigPlanet), but I never specifically went for a platinum in those games (and probably never will considering how hard some of them are). There really is no rhyme or reason as to what games I'll try to get the platinum in, I'll just play a game and if I feel it's attainable I'll try to go for it.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

My platinums along with difficulty:

Dragon Age: Origins: Very easy. Just play through the game and you get most of the trophies already. Play a second time doing opposite choices to get other set of trophies. Then after that just level up a third character to level 20.

God of War 1: Fairly simple. Hardest was probably the Challenge of the Gods though even that wasn't too difficult.

God of War 2: Also fairly simple. Challenge of the Titans is the hardest one though easier than Challenge of the Gods in the first game since you don't have to do it all at once.

Infamous: Not hard to do at all. Only difficult thing are the stunts trophy, otherwise collecting all the shards can be time consuming but not difficult and to me they were fun.

Prince of Persia: Probably the easiest to get. Collecting 1001 light seeds though can be time consuming but it's a very beautiful game to look at while you do it.

Uncharted 2: Got this platinum in 3 days because the game was so good. 2 playthroughs, one on hard and one on crushing. Then chapter selecting to pick up the scraps like missed treasures/weapon kills.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

Platinums that I have:
Uncharted 1
Uncharted 2
Motorstorm Pacific Rift
Mirror's Edge
Trine
Burnout Paradise
Rock Band 2 - needed help from my roommates who do all the singing and druming
Infamous
Prince of Persia

I'm glad I'm a trophy whore because going after the Mirror's Edge and Motorstorm trophies really made those games better.

Games that I'm a handful of trophies away from platinum and intend on going back and finishing are:
LBP - just need some people to heart me to finish it
Killzone 2 - just need to do the last half of the game on Elite, grab 2 more intel and shoot some symbols
Borderlands - would have gotten it already but my PS3 broke

Other games at 100% but not platinum:
Flower
Super Stardust HD
Wolfenstein 3D
Rag Doll Kung Fu
Battlefield 1943

Re: Platinum Trophys?

My Platinums:
Mirror's Edge: A little difficult. The time trials and speed runs requires patience.
Call of Duty World at War:Medium difficult, the only trouble may be the last two missions in Veteran.
Bioshock: Time consuming and maybe you may need a guide to get the audio diaries and tonics
Little Big Planet: Easy and funny, but you'll have to wait until you have enough hearts to get the Create trophy.
Uncharted Drakes Fortune: One of the most easily and quick.
Trine: Easy and quick too.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

Platinums (19):

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Bioshock
Bioshock 2
Brütal Legend
Burnout Paradise
Darksiders
Dead Space
GTA 4
God Of War
Infamous
Killzone 2
Prince Of Persia (2008)
Pure
Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time
Red Dead Redemption
Resident Evil 5
Trine
Uncharted
Uncharted 2

Non-platinum titles at 100% (6):

Astro Tripper
Battlefield 1943
Critter Crunch
Flower
Mainichi Issho
Noby Noby Boy

Uncharted, KZ2 and RE5 are all fairly challenging on the highest difficulty, each having a few very frustrating encounters. And the final level in Trine is brutal on the hardest difficulty (and Frostbyte actually released a patch that made it even harder -- WTH!)

Overall, my platinums are fairly easy to get, though. I don't have any crazy hard ones like the one for Mirror's Edge or Motorstorm: PR -- much respect to you that do!

Don't ask me about GTA 4. lol roll

Re: Platinum Trophys?

^IMO Brutal Legend is a harder platinum to get than Mirror's Edge or Motorstorm PR was because Brutal Legend is a steaming pile of shit. Playing it enough to get the platinum is inconceivable to me.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

Just got the Trine one yesterday.  I installed the patch, which bugged the "Find all secret items" trophy, so after a full day of frustrating play (seriously, does anyone else find Trine not so much fun as it is imprecise and frustrating?), I was left one trophy shy.  Thankfully, I backed up my PS3 recently so I had my old save data.  I reinstalled the game, overwrote the new, bugged save file with my old one, and only had to find a couple more items.  Finally got it. and I'm happy I won't have to play it again.  Tower of Sarek my ass...

Well in that case, definitely don't go for the platinum in Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust.

Well, I'm not above boosting a few rubbish multiplayer trophies. smile Doesn't take long to get the necessary wins that way.

I enjoyed going through the story mode. Fun characters and writing; and a beautiful world, where it's easy to remember how to get from place to place, unlike most open-world games. A shame about the gazillion collectibles, though. I'm disappointed the game didn't turn out to be a straight action-adventure, but the RTS element works decent enough in single player; it's only in multiplayer that it completely falls apart.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

So close to Just Cause 2.  I just have to get to 75% completion (I'm at 68% now) then replay it on hard/very hard.  Only 7 missions each so it won't take long.

Wow, congrats. Was it hard to get? I got all the single player trophies, but I was so disappointed in the game that I haven't touched it since I beat it (meaning I haven't even touched multiplayer). I've been thinking about going back to it, but even if I do I'm not sure if I'll go for the platinum.

Re: Platinum Trophys?

Got the Just Cause 2 one a couple of weeks ago.  80 hours total gameplay, mostly because I didn't realize that if you beat it on Extreme it unlocks the lower difficulty level complete trophies.  Oh well, it's a good game so I didn't mind.  Plus, getting 75% completion on very hard would have been a huuuuuuuge pain in the ass.

Is Just Cause 2 really that good? (80 hours worth)?  I thought it was a racer...
